Quest for 100 Losses: Mission Accomplished!
The best possible scenario played out last night. The Chicago Bears beat the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. As a result, only a limited number of fans tuned in to watch the Chicago Cubs lose their 100th game of the season. Perhaps it lessened the blow. Even I didn't watch. I was at a friends' house watching the Bears game. Once that game ended, I hopped in my car and drove home. For some reason, the Cubs simply weren't on my mind.Just before calling it a night, I finished reading my book and quickly glanced at my iPhone. Sure enough the Houston Astros, with 106 losses of their own, defeated the Cubs by a score of 3-0. The Cubs secured the third worst season in franchise history.
