Best Album Cover of the 1980s?

Over the weekend, I read the John Taylor biography, In the Pleasure Groove: Love Death and Duran Duran. Yeah, go ahead and make your joke now.

Done yet?

In Chapter 33 Bird of Paradise, he discussed the recording of Duran Duran's second album, 1982's Rio. On page 171 he asked a simple question:

Is Rio the greatest album cover of the eighties? Discuss.

While I'm not embarrassed to say I enjoy every album Duran Duran recorded, I will politely disagree. It's great, and it's high on the list. My favorite album cover from the 1980s (and favorite album of the decade) goes to 1983's Synchronicity by The Police.

I don't know enough album covers to have an opinion, but they are both great albums.

Aren't you a huge Pixies (or some other band from that time) fan?
