MLB 2015 Game #6: Diamondbacks vs. BrewersIf you know me, or if you've frequented this blog throughout the years, you've noticed that I have two obsessions: baseball and Star Wars. Tonight, those two universes will mix. Let's address the geeky stuff first.
This afternoon's game between the Arizona Diamondbacks (22-25, .468) and Milwaukee Brewers (16-33, .327) is also Star Wars Night. While dressing in costume is encouraged (sans lightsabers and blasters, naturally), I promise I won't be. Miller Park will have pre-game festivities, special in-game features, and appearances by many characters. I hope they show the Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens trailer on the video board. And yes, I have a voucher to pick up a "Jedi Luc" bobblehead featuring Jonathan Lucroy dressed as Luke Skywalker from 1983's Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
Now, back to baseball.
Entering action this afternoon, the Brewers are looking to snap their current six-game losing streak. The Diamondbacks will send Jeremy Hellickson (2-3, 5.33 ERA) to the mound. The Brewers will answer with Kyle Lohse (3-5, 5.80 ERA). Arizona is sitting in fourth place in the National League West and they trail the San Francisco Giants by 6.5 games. Milwaukee is buried in last place in the National League Central. They trail the front-running St. Louis Cardinals by 16.5 games.
Game Note: I haven't seen the Arizona Diamondbacks play since my first game of the 2013 season. Oddly enough, that game was played at Miller Park.
