MLB 2015 Game #9: Rockies vs. Cubs

Last night's game demonstrated exactly where the Cubs are in their team's development. They were trailing 4-0 to the Rockies entering the fourth inning only to rally for six runs in the bottom of the frame. After adding an additional run, they attempted to close out the game leading 7-4 in the top of the ninth. Allowing four runs in the top of the ninth, the Cubs had last bat trailing 8-7. Rookie third baseman Kris Bryant belted a game-winning two-run homer to lock up the win.

Early this morning, word broke online that the Colorado Rockies traded shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Jose Reyes.

Tonight the Rockies will start Yohan Flande (0-1, 4.24 ERA). Flande is making his 11th career start and appearing in his 24th career game. The Cubs will answer with Dallas Beeler (0-0, 6.43 ERA). This will be Beeler's fifth start of his career. Neither pitcher has logged his first career win.
