102 Years Later......both the Chicago Cubs and White Sox appear in the postseason together.
During the 1906 season, the Chicago Cubs and White Sox met in the World Series. Not only was that the last time these two teams made the postseason together, it was the only time.
Of course, that was until the Chicago White Sox defeated the Minnesota Twins, 1-0, in the tiebreaker tonight. The White Sox required a victory in game 163, but they are now the 2008 American League Central Division champions.
Back in 1906, there was no such thing as the Division Series or the League Championship Series. There were two leagues with no divisions, and no wild cards. If you finished first place in your league, you advanced to the World Series.
Chicago fans everywhere...this is our night to celebrate. We have two baseball teams playing in October.
