Cubs/White Sox Part I: Wrigley Field

For some reason, Major League Baseball scheduled the first Cubs/White Sox series during the week. The first three games between these teams will be played at Wrigley Field tonight, Wednesday and Thursday. These games usually are played on the weekend and appear as the game of the week on Saturday afternoon or Sunday night. I guess they assume the games are a sellout anyway.

This year, these games have significantly less buzz surrounding them. Perhaps fans have decided to invest less energy in them? Even though the games stir the rivalry between fans, they are still worth only one win per game. Perhaps the two teams aren't playing as well as they have in the past? The Cubs dropped two of three to the Minnesota Twins last week. Though the White Sox did win two of three against the Brewers in Miller Park last week.

Either way, go Cubs!

No, I don't have any Cubs tickets until late July. :(

That's too bad. I know you were mentioning before that you hadn't seen a game yet this year.

With all the rain pelting Chicago right now, I doubt the game will get started tonight.
