Bill and Craig brought their power for this game. Craig started the offensive display in the top of the first with one home run. Bill answered in the bottom of the frame with two to claim an early 2-1 lead. Craig evened the score in the second, 2-2. In bottom of the second, Bill added another for a 3-2 lead. Again, Craig tied the game at 3-3 in the third. Bill sent another pitch over the fence for a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, Craig managed to belt another game-tying blast to make the game 4-4. But the game had not yet been won. Not content with simply taking the lead, Bill pounded three pitches out of the park to secure the 7-4 victory. Craig's bat was silenced in the top of the fifth. Bill's seven home runs established a new league record for a regulation or extra inning game. In the victorious effort, Bill fanned four and Craig only one.
