Football: Non-stop, Hard Hitting Action?

Several years ago, I had a debate with a co-worker. She tried to argue the point that baseball was boring and football was non-stop, hard hitting action. I argued the point that baseball had just as much action as football. Her favorite sport was football, and baseball was my favorite sport.

I cannot argue the point that football features more violent action than baseball. That is without question. The Wall Street Journal recently analyzed a typical National Football League game. I always knew that football games featured plenty of downtime like huddles, penalties, and instant replay review. I never realized just how little true game time there was until know.

That being said, I am still going to be planted in front of the television watching the NFL playoffs today.
