Halfway Home

With their 3-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds this afternoon, the Chicago Cubs officially reached the midpoint of the 2010 season. After 81 games played, they find themselves in fourth place in the National League Central Division with a record of 35-46 and 10 1/2 games out of first. That's a .432 winning percentage. The All-Star Game, which is the ceremonial halfway point, is still two weeks away on Tuesday, July 13.

Not good.

Maybe the Cubs will be better next year because there is some good talent at their Iowa farm club.

Unfortunately, the Cubs don't have a long history of good talent in the minors.
