An Apple WeekendLooking back at this weekend, I think it's safe to say it was Apple-themed.
Last week, Susan and I decided it was time to upgrade our 9-year-old Apple G3 iMac. It's been with us since October 2002 and it lived a busy life. On Friday, our new iMac was shipped to my office. Of course, I participated in a golf fundraiser so I didn't get a chance to open it up and get it running until late that evening. Right now, I am trying make sure that I've searched every last corner of my old machine to uncover any photos that might remain. I still need to transfer my iTunes library. I'll get that later.
This morning, Susan and I made our annual trek to Edward's Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove, Illinois. If you're not familiar with Poplar Grove, it's a small town just outside of Rockford, close to the Wisconsin border. Each year around my birthday, we head there to pick apples by hand from their orchard. This weekend, we only had access to Jonathon and Jonagold apples. We also stop in the barn to buy apple cider, bacon, jelly, and pumpkins for Halloween. This year, we opted for White Pumpkins.
I guess I'll wrap up my weekend by slicing up an apple and finishing this blog.
