Destination: London

When I flipped the calendar from September to October this morning, I couldn't believe that the year is racing along. I guess I say that every year anyway. The holidays are just around the corner. But before I let the year get away from me completely, I was excited to see October.

At the end of the month, Susan and I will celebrate our seventh anniversary. This year, we decided to do something different. Something a little more impressive. Now that my baseball travels are complete, we can set our sights upon something more grand. At the end of the month, we be traveling across the Atlantic Ocean to London. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm 37 years old now, and my international travel has been limited to a few trips to Winnipeg as a kid, and a couple trips to Toronto as an adult (with a stop in London, Ontario). Yes, family and baseball brought me north of the border.

I'm excited about our trip. I've always wanted to get to England. We started a list of places we'd like to visit and things we want to see, but we are open to suggestions. As a fan of The Beatles, I'd like to see Abbey Road. There's plenty of royal history, but we're looking for something out of the norm, too. We will only be there from October 21-26, so if anyone has suggestions please share them here. We'd like to hear what you recommend.

That is so exciting! I had a wonderful visit to London when I was young and poor so I can't suggest too many places to see but I can say you will love the English people - so honest, so friendly, so helpful. One place you can't miss is Hyde Park and all the people on their soapboxes!
