Three Years OldI joined Humzoo three years ago today. I'm proud to be an early adopter. My first blog post was about, you guessed it, baseball. In my inaugural blog, I stated that my little chunk of the blogosphere would remain focused upon baseball. Overall, that remained true.
This anniversary arrives at an appropriate time of the year. Major League Baseball teams have assembled in Arizona and Florida for Cactus League and Grapefruit League spring training games. Games don't count yet, and not all of them are broadcast. I usually have tickets for several upcoming games.
When I posted my first blog, the Chicago Cubs were riding an upward trend. They finished the 2007 season as National League Central Division champions, but fell victim to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLDS. That was an ugly three-game sweep. The Cubs would win the division again in 2008, and again, get bounced out of the postseason with another three-game sweep. That time to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They haven't returned to the playoffs since. And I must admit, I'm not optimistic about the 2011 season. Sigh.
In my first blog, I also mentioned my goal of visiting every Major League Baseball stadium. Back then, I had nine left. That goal was wrapped up in May 2010 when we visited Philadelphia. There is a technicality, but you can read my About page for details.
Over the weekend, I have to complete some baseball writing. I'm almost finished with what I need to produce, but I will explain that later. There's a very cool opportunity floating around. When I'm finished, I'll share details.
Thanks for the continued support of my blog. I appreciate the comments. Yes, even the comments from Yankees fans. Only 27 days until Opening Day.
