Fantasy Baseball 2012After dinner this evening, we stopped by Barnes & Noble and I picked up my fantasy baseball guide. Our draft is scheduled for this Sunday. My old college friend who lives about five blocks away will host the event for a second year. Once again, no more driving out to Naperville.
I know I've blogged about the fantasy baseball draft before, but it's time to do so again. If you are not familiar with fantasy baseball, you draft real players and use their actual statistics to build your own teams and compete against each other. This year, I believe our league has eight teams. That's slightly smaller than we've had in the past, but is still quite competitive. For stats in this league we use five offensive categories and five pitching categories. We draft two catchers (C), one first baseman (1B), one second baseman (2B), one shortstop (SS), one third baseman (3B), one corner (1B/3B), one middle (2B/SS), five outfielders (OF), one utility player (UTIL), nine pitchers (P), and seven bench players (B#). Once my team is ready, I'll share the results.
Like every year, I'm considering a name change for my team. I've used Ted Williams' Head for quite a few years. I still like it, but it may be time for a change. There is an old blog about that name and its origin. Rude and insensitive? Probably, but it still makes other owners laugh.
