MLB 2012 Game #3: Cubs vs. Brewers

Finally. Tonight, I get to attend my first Chicago Cubs game during the Theo Epstein era. We have a quick turnaround between games. On Monday, we were in Milwaukee to see the Brewers host the Cincinnati Reds. To close out the work week, we're headed right back following work today.

Tonight, the Cubs will send Matt Garza (2-1, 2.67 ERA) to the mound. He hasn't started a game since April 29. Due to a case of the flu, he was skipped for his last start in the rotation. The Brewers will counter with Randy Wolf (2-3, 6.68 ERA).

Both teams find themselves buried at the bottom of the National League Central standings with identical 13-18 records. They trail the St. Louis Cardinals by seven games. The Cubs have won six of their last 10 games, and the Brewers have won four of their last 10.

Here are the current NL Central standings:

St. Louis Cardinals 20-11 .645 ---
Cincinnati Reds 16-14 .533 3.5 GB
Houston Astros 14-17 .452 6 GB
Pittsburgh Pirates 14-17 .452 6 GB
Milwaukee Brewers 13-18 .419 7 GB
Chicago Cubs 13-18 .419 7 GB
