MLB Trade Talk II

Yesterday, the rumor on the street was that the Chicago Cubs traded starting pitcher, Ryan Dempster to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for highly-touted pitcher Randall Delgado. Since Dempster has been in the majors for 10 seasons, and he spent the last five seasons with the Cubs, he has the right to veto a trade. Apparently, that's the case. Dempster informed the Cubs that he would be willing to except a trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. According to reports, he is pushing the Cubs organization to secure a deal with the Dodgers before finalizing anything with the Braves.

Stay tuned Cubs fans. We could have a crazy week of rumors ahead.

It's going to be a shame to see him go, but I understand and agree with the reasoning behind it.

Since he's a free agent after the season, he could always resign with the Cubs.

True. But will he be worth the money he'll be able to get. I guess that's always the gamble. I just saw that the deal with Atlanta didn't get done.
